How Foundation Central Ltd collects, uses and protects personal information, including information about children.

Who we are
Foundation Central Ltd is the data controller for the information described here. Marcel Pirret runs the practice. Contact: hello@foundationcentral.co.uk.
What we collect
- Enquiries: your name, email address, who you are enquiring as, your child's school year and anything you choose to tell us.
- Newsletter: your email address.
- Families we work with: parent names and email addresses, your child's first name or nickname, school year, goals, session notes, diary entries and documents you share with us.
We never ask for your child's surname, school or date of birth in the portal.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and arrange a discovery call.
- To deliver the services you have asked for, including the parent portal.
- To send the monthly newsletter, if you signed up.
- To meet legal and safeguarding duties.
Information about a child's needs is special category data. We only use it to provide the service, and we keep it to what the work needs.
How we protect it
- The parent portal needs an emailed login code plus Face ID, Touch ID or an authenticator app.
- Session notes, diary entries, goals and documents are encrypted before they are stored.
- Data is stored in the European Union by Cloudflare, our hosting provider.
- Each parent only sees their own child. Some notes stay private to Marcel.
- Every view and change in the portal is logged.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or share your information. Our suppliers process it for us under contract: Cloudflare for hosting, storage and email delivery. We share information with schools or other professionals only with your agreement, or where the law or safeguarding requires it.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to working together: 12 months.
- Records about a child we have worked with: until the child's 25th birthday.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
- Invoices and contracts: 6 years.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your information, or object to how we use it. Email hello@foundationcentral.co.uk and we will reply within one month. A young person who understands their rights can make requests about their own information.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
